Our client needed a private workspace for his daughters, a place to call their own, away from the bustle of the home and so approached us for help. This build epitomises what we are all about; cleverly using the space available to create a modern, bespoke, practical, long-lasting garden room that benefits everyone in the family.
As there was no side access, we were able to gain entry to the garden via the back gate and as the garden has been recently landscaped, we added protection to both the new patio and resin paths, prior to commencing any work and where any materials were due to be stored.
Positioned flush to the back and right boundaries, the office is sat on an engineered brick perimeter with a floating floor to increase the internal ceiling height. The anthracite grey 1.8m UPVC French Door is paired with an unopenable anthracite grey UPVC tall window 600mm (w) x 1800mm (h) to let in more natural light.
DB plasterboard provides superior acoustic performance providing up to 49db sound insulation to greatly reduce noise whilst hard at work and in addition to our standard electrics package, our client also chose two external downlights which were positioned either side of the French door. Additionally, for the external look, our client chose Alaskan Cedar composite cladding.
The room was professionally plastered, a laminate floor and bullnose skirting laid and we finished the build with a basic whitewash/mist coat of paint.
We are thrilled with the finish of this petite build and love how, despite its size, it still looks discreet yet sophisticated in this suburban garden.
