When your old garage becomes a dumping ground, it makes perfect sense to take it down and replace it with a garden room, especially when you have a young family in the main home and everyone would benefit from their own space!
The project began with our team removing the existing garage, creating a fabulous, large open area. The remaining concrete pad was in good condition and so we added padstones to it to create the essential air flow underneath the build and on which to seat the frame.
Within a few days, the main shell of the room was already up. Following the installation of the Anthracite grey 2.3m UPVC Sliding Door, Richard and Ollie were soon laying the Firestone RubberCover EPDM one piece roof – using a material such as this ensures that there are no joins or open areas for water to get in to.
Heavily insulated for year round use, the team then put up the DB plasterboards which provide superior acoustic performance providing up to 49db sound insulation – perfect for those Team meetings and Zoom calls!
Clad in dark grey composite on the front wall and white UPVC on the non-visible back, left and right walls, the room looks distinguished and striking at the end of the garden and we are thrilled that our client has been able to settle straight into it.
