Sidcup Garden Entertaining Room

With a beautiful garden such as this and still in need of some extra family space, our lovely clients decided on a garden room; a place where young adults and their grown ups, together or separately, can kick back without disrupting the rest of the home.

As our clients were able to achieve a minimum of a 2m gap between all the garden room walls and any boundary, they were able to increase the height from the standard 2.5m to 3m (external size).

The primary garden room foundations were designed to accommodate current ground levels, slope, and tree clearance requirements. A small concrete base was already in existence from an old summer house, which we were able to re-site and, as the room has to have an airflow underneath it, we added padstones. We then supplemented the remainder of the footprint with ground screws which meant we were able to achieve a level base despite the different gradients of the ground.

Our clients chose a black 3m 3-panel aluminium bifold door, positioned centrally on the front wall and complemented with black framed full-length aluminium non opening 600mm (w) x 1800mm (h) windows to let in plenty of natural light.

Clad in larch on the front and right visible walls, our clients chose to finish the back and right walls in black UPVC in keeping with the rest of the build.

The whole finish, both inside and out, has certainly given this build the wow factor and we are thrilled that our clients are delighted with their room and moved straight in!
