Gillingham Garden Games Room

The original plan for our lovely clients was to build a gym in the garden and have an entertainment room in the garage. However, after wanting a separate space in which to host friends away from the main property, they decided to swap these around and build a games room in the garden.

Once the foundations had been mapped out and the project lead had gone over the initial plan with our clients, they considered changing the layout of the build and moving the 2.3m anthracite grey UPVC sliding door to the shorter left wall of the build so that it faced the house. However, once they had talked through some different ideas and considered the positioning of the TV, our clients stuck with their original plan.

To reinforce the floor area to fully accommodate the pool table, our team installed extra ground screw foundations and they were able to satisfy a niggle that our client had by making a slight adjustment to the build, moving the footprint of the garden room a few centimetres to ensure that the back wall was completely in line with the side of the house. Communication is key with all our projects hence it was great for our clients to be able to bat their ideas about.

The front and visible right walls of the build are clad in larch whilst the non-visible back and left walls are clad in sand yellow Cedral Cement, to comply with Building Control as the build is over 17.5sqm externally and is in close proximity to boundaries.

The build was fitted out with fully certified electrics and we installed a rotary isolator so that an air con unit can be added at a later date.

We are delighted that this build has given our clients a fabulous space in which to entertain with friends or to simply relax and enjoy their own company.
