As there was only grass and soil where our lovely client had decided on placing their garden room, we installed ground screw foundations. These are BGR’s go-to choice for a plethora of reasons:
We installed an anthracite grey 2.3m UPVC sliding door in the centre of the front wall complementing this by cladding the same front wall in vertical Larch and the non-visible left, right and back walls in cheaper horizontal white UPVC, creating a subtle statement at the end of the garden.
The EPDM rubbercover roof is incredibly durable, was easy to install, requires minimal maintenance and avoids any joins as you would get with a pitched or felt roof. The build has a standard anthracite grey guttering system located along the back wall and is connected to a water butt.
Fully certified electrics were installed in the room with an SWA cable being run from the main property. Our client chose to add an IR bar heater and an ethernet cable. We finished the build with all walls and the ceiling being professionally plastered, a base whitewash coat of paint applied and 12mm laminate floor and 94mm bullnose skirting laid.
We are thrilled to learn that this family uses their garden room almost daily, having had many a fun night ensconced in this wonderful build. Long may it continue!
