As our lovely family live in a flat, what better way to create more space than to build an entertaining room in their own garden.
Choosing a different external look by cladding the room in Ecoscapes Slatted Silver Birch, the build blends nicely with the natural background whilst providing an heir of sophistication to the corner of the garden. The non-visible back wall is clad in white UPVC.
Our clients wanted to let in as much light as possible and opted for an anthracite grey 2.3m UPVC sliding door to the front of the build and an Anthracite grey 3m x 2.1m aluminium 3 panel Bifold Door to the side of the building, overlooking the decked seating area and creating a beautiful flow through the room. They also chose an anthracite grey, full-length non-opening 800mm (w) x 2100mm high window placed on the front wall.
Running an SWA cable from the main consumer unit in the house to the new consumer unit in the garden room was easy and, as our clients had chosen to install an aircon unit in the build as well, we also fitted a rotary isolator switch and ran an ethernet cable to the room.
Our clients had chosen to paint the room themselves and also independently sourced and fitted the flooring.
To complete and compliment this modern room, we installed a 6m x 4m grey composite decking area to the side of the build and along the front, finishing the whole project off beautifully.
