Sidcup Garden Annexe

When we were approached by our lovely client for some ideas on creating a room for her Dad to live in, we jumped at the chance to help. We set about designing a living space that maximised the area at the end of the garden and which now provides her father with private living accommodation, giving him independence but still being close to the family.

As this room exceeds 34sqm externally, Planning Permission was required and because we build would be habitable, the whole project had to be met with Building Control Regulations. We were able to help our client with all of these services.

The clearing of the area and the installation of the foundations was a big job for the team but, they undertook this without any issue and the build itself was soon underway.

To comply with Building Control, each stage of the project had to be tested and signed off so this took a lot of careful planning and organisation, especially as we were working to a time frame.

Anthracite grey French doors leading into the main living area were fitted along with an anthracite grey window to the side elevation facing the house. We also fitted two internal doors; one which leads to a double bedroom and one which leads to the bathroom. Both the bedroom and bathroom are connected by a pocket door.

The construction and the installation of the bathroom included first fix plumbing, final fix pipework and extras, fitting the tanking kit, purchase and installation of all the bathroom fittings. In the basic kitchenette, we installed all the cabinets and appliances so that the whole build was ready to move in as soon as we had finished.
