The children had outgrown the climbing frame and trampoline at the back of the garden so what better way to make use of this redundant space? Our lovely clients knew that they wanted a room to entertain in and somewhere for the children to hang out so they gave us a call.
Prior to commencement of the build, our client emptied the existing shed and BGR rotated it 90 degrees so that it could be hidden behind the garden room build but still enabling the family access to it. Any paving slabs that had resided under the shed were removed where necessary and, as the rest of the area was made up mainly of grass and soil, the team set to work installing ground screws to create the new foundations and adding padstones where they were able to use the existing concrete base.
To finish off the external look of the room, our clients chose Siberian Larch on the front wall and side walls. As the back wall cannot be seen, this was clad in White UPVC.
To be able to open up the room to the garden during the warmer months, our clients chose an anthracite grey aluminium 3m, 3 panel bi-fold door with chrome handles and an additional anthracite grey UPVC window. openable at the top.
A stud wall was erected to conceal the shed to the left hand side with the front wall clad in Siberian Larch, in keeping with the rest of the build. The shed was set back from the front, creating an additional space to the left side of the room. A composite decking step was run along the front to finish the external look.
To compliment this lovely family room, a stunning bespoke bar was lovingly crafted by our friends of at @rdcabinetmaking, with hidden inbuilt lighting; an impressive feature on its own.
